League of Legens is a competitive strategic cooperative online game, one of the most followed in Asian countries. The game is a brainchild of one of the authors of the first MOBA of its kind, the user-made Warcraft 3 map Dota Allstars. Unlike its predecessor, Dota, LOL features a much quicker gameplay, larger offline tournaments and detailed lore of the world of Runeterra, a priority for the developers at Riot Games.

At the core LOL is not too different from other MOBAs: two teams of five champions each try to destroy each other's main structures, called nexuses, on a nearby symmetrical map – Summoner’s Rift. Besides this traditional 5x5 mode, League of Legends offers others, including ARAM (All Random All Mid), where teams of five randomly selected champions duke it out on a single lane, and URF (Ultra Rapid Fire), where skill cooldown times are 80% shorter and require no resources.
Even though League of Legends was released in the remote 2009, Riot Games intends to continue its development: LOL still breaks records in the total number of players among MOBA games. The basic concept has not changed in over a decade, but there are more than eight million players fighting in it online daily.
